Smilegate and developer Super Creative announced on Thursday, the 30th, that their dark fantasy roguelike RPG, 'Chaos Zero Nightmare' (hereinafter 'CZN'), has launched its 'Half Anniversary' update, titled 'ARISE.'

This update introduces a new season of 'Galactic Disaster,' a new seasonal combatant named 'Heidemarie,' and a variety of new content designed to strengthen the game's core deck-building roguelike mechanics while reducing repetitive play fatigue and improving reward satisfaction.

The centerpiece of the update is the new 'Sortie' mode. Sortie is an original deck-building roguelike experience where paths, enemies, and choices change with every exploration. Players acquire numerous cards, ensuring a unique experience each time, and progress is measured by score rather than saved data. While players start with a single combatant, they can build a party of up to four as they progress through the outer, central, and deep sectors. Resources earned in Sortie can be used to purchase items for editing save data, allowing players to further refine their existing builds.

Season 3 of the seasonal content 'Galactic Disaster,' titled 'Song Echoing in the Galaxy,' has also been added. Set on the 'Edenity,' the home of combatants 'Haru' and 'Ray,' the story revolves around a massive galactic idol concert and the conspiracies of the Chaos Cult. The Chaos for Season 3 is the 'Theater of Illusion,' featuring the Chaos Cult as the primary faction. Players can earn various growth materials and purchase three types of 'Cores' from the supply shop to edit their save data.

Heidemarie, the mayor of Edenity, and her secretary, 'Sylvia,' have been added as a new seasonal combatant and partner, respectively. Heidemarie, a Passion-attribute Ranger, introduces a new combat mechanic where multiple cards link together to act in unison. Her strengths lie in relentless attack chains using 'Aurora Blade' cards and powerful finishing skills. The backstory of Heidemarie and Sylvia is revealed naturally through the Season 3 story progression.

A key improvement to reduce repetitive play fatigue is the new 'Tactical Delegation Mode.' Available for all Chaos modes that grant save data, this feature allows players to consume new resources to skip battles and unidentified zone events to quickly check results. Additionally, the 'Great Rift' content has had its save data season restrictions removed, allowing players to use their favorite custom decks at any time and experiment with various gimmick decks each season. The 'Tower of Screams,' previously in beta, has also officially launched with new visuals and gameplay mechanics.

To celebrate the half-anniversary, a variety of events are underway. Starting April 29, players logging into the game will receive special 10-day attendance rewards, including Crystals, Prism Lenses, Rescue Anchors, and generous gifts such as a 5-star combatant selector and a 5-star partner selector. Furthermore, during the event period, players will receive 10 free standard rescues per day for a total of 70, along with a 'Special Signal Selection Rescue' event that offers 200 free rescues (20 sets of 10), from which players can choose one set of results to keep.
