Nimble Neuron (co-CEOs Kim Seung-hoo and Jung Wook) announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the 2027 Chungcheong Universiade Organizing Committee (Chairman Kang Chang-hee, hereinafter the Organizing Committee) and the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency (hereinafter the Agency) to promote cultural events linked to esports.
The agreement was finalized in conjunction with the 'Eternal Return League Masters Season 10 Finals' and is intended to support the successful hosting of the 2027 Chungcheong Summer World University Games while fostering the expansion of esports in university sports and promoting cultural outreach
Key officials attended the signing ceremony, including Lee Chang-seop, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee; Lee Eun-hak, President of the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency; and Kim Seung-hoo, CEO of Nimble Neuron. Under this agreement, the three organizations plan to jointly promote various cultural events, including esports tournaments, and cooperate on operations and publicity
Furthermore, the Agency will provide support for venue operations and the use of space for cultural events, while Nimble Neuron will leverage its expertise to build a cooperative framework, such as by linking its Eternal Return League to the Games
Lee Chang-seop, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, stated, "This agreement will serve as a significant opportunity to create a new model for international competitions that integrates sports, esports, and culture. We will lead the Games to success through differentiated content that resonates with university students worldwide"
Lee Eun-hak, President of the Agency, said, "We will actively support the establishment of esports as a new domain within university sports, using the 2027 Chungcheong Summer World University Games as a catalyst. By leveraging Daejeon's esports infrastructure and content capabilities, we will contribute to the success of the Games by revitalizing cultural events linked to the competition"
Kim Seung-hoo, CEO of Nimble Neuron, stated, "It is very meaningful to be able to link esports content based on Eternal Return with the 2027 Chungcheong Universiade. We will contribute to the success of the Games and the spread of its cultural value through an esports experience shared with global users"
Meanwhile, the status of esports is rising rapidly in the international sports community, with discussions underway regarding the introduction of esports into the Olympics and the hosting of separate events, marking the convergence of sports and digital content as a new trend. In line with these global developments, the Organizing Committee plans to develop the 2027 Chungcheong Summer World University Games into a futuristic sports event by actively expanding cultural programs that utilize esports
