Under the team name Le neXo, Spanish esports veterans, Pedro "LucifroN" Moreno Durán and Juan "VortiX" Moreno Durán have apparently registered for the second phase of the EU Open Division. The brothers will be joined by old teammate Joaquim "Lowell" Fitas and the ex tank player for Fnatic's 2015 line up, Frédéric "Fredzw" Roth. Raoul "GerdamHerd" Saurbier will likely be reprising his role as support, leaving Le neXo with four of the five original squad that went on to become Team Liquid and dominate competitive Heroes of the Storm during the earliest stages of the game.
Old Pros
During the teams highest point, LucifroN and VortiX lead their team to place eight first place finishes in the nine months the team was together. Despite being on top, the brothers decided to step away from competitive Heroes in 2015 and chase individual goals. VortiX returned to Starcraft 2 and LucifroN took a break from gaming entirely to finish his bachelor's degree.
Two years have passed and the esports world of Heroes has grown significantly. With the HGC in full swing and international competition becoming more frequent, the decision to return to competitive Heroes was likely an easy one. Le neXo's veteran experience coupled with their innate Heroes ability should make them a big favorite going into the Open Division, as it's unlikely a former world class team will lose to amateur opponents.
Although FalcoN and Blackscorp are missing from this new roster, the team coming back together is making fans excited for the next season.
UPDATE: As of June 8th, the original team registration that listed VortiX and LucifroN (and subsequently inspired this report) has been altered and does not include the Durán brothers. The current status of their participation in the open qualifier is now presently unknown.
