Capcom has released a director interview video detailing the development story and game systems of 'Pragmata,' a new sci-fi action-adventure game scheduled for release in April 2026 on PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™ 2, and PC (Steam®).
In this video, Pragmata director Cho Yong-hee and actor Shim Hyung-tak, known for his deep passion for gaming, sit down for a conversation. Director Cho reveals that the project began with the simple idea of wanting to create a new game set on the moon, and he goes on to explain in depth the relationship between the protagonist, Hugh, and the android girl, Diana, who were born from that concept.
According to the discussion, Pragmata is more than just a shooter; its core is a 'buddy action' experience where cooperation between the two characters is essential. Hugh, a seasoned guard, handles combat using various firearms, while Diana utilizes her hacking abilities to neutralize base facilities and robots.
Director Cho emphasized that "hacking is not just a mini-game, but a strategic element that can become a more powerful offensive tool than guns as the game progresses," highlighting the sophisticated balance between shooting and puzzle-solving. The video also explores the narrative of the two characters struggling to return to Earth while bonding on a cold lunar base, as well as interactive elements such as upgrading equipment at their 'Shelter' base to build a connection with Diana, all presented through the perspective of Shim Hyung-tak.
Pragmata will officially support Korean voice and subtitles, and pre-orders for both physical and digital versions are currently underway. Those who pre-order the physical edition will receive a special four-slot LED keycap keychain as a physical bonus. Additionally, both physical and digital pre-orders include the 'Neo Bushido' and 'Neo Kunoichi' costumes as exclusive outfits for Hugh and Diana.
The official release date for the PlayStation®5 and PC (Steam®) versions is Friday, April 17, 2026, while the Nintendo Switch™ 2 version will launch on Friday, April 24, 2026. The game is rated for ages 12 and up, and further information can be found on the official game website.
