Tencent Games has revealed its programme for the 2026 Game Developers Conference (GDC), featuring more than 20 sessions and a technology showcase highlighting the company’s latest AI-powered development tools.
According to the announcement, the company will host talks across multiple GDC summits and operate an expo booth at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from March 11th–13th. The showcase will focus on areas such as game development pipelines, player safety technologies and AI-assisted creation tools.
Tencent Games, a global video game developer and publisher, stated that the initiative aims to demonstrate how technological innovation and production workflows are evolving across the industry.
Tencent to showcase AI-powered development tools
At booth No. 641 and 649 in South Hall B1, Tencent will present several internal technologies designed to support game creation, quality assurance and player protection.
One of the tools highlighted is VISVISE, described in the announcement as an AI-powered game creation suite capable of generating 3D animations and assisting with processes such as auto-rigging, modelling and digital asset management.
Another system, MagicDawn, is an engine technology solution that integrates features including global illumination, spatial audio and occlusion culling to improve performance and visual fidelity. According to the announcement, the tool is compatible with engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity and Godot.
Tencent will also showcase Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE), a security system designed to detect cheating behaviour across PC and mobile titles, alongside WeTest, the company’s quality assurance platform. The release stated that WeTest has provided testing services to more than 1,000 game companies globally.
Additional demonstrations include ASI World, an AI-driven production pipeline designed to automate parts of the game development process. Tencent will also present AI-generated Kung Fu motion systems developed by MoreFun Studios, which aim to create dynamic martial arts animations for games.
Tencent developers to host sessions across GDC summits
Beyond the expo floor, Tencent developers will participate in several official GDC sessions.
Nathan Chen, Head of Technology at Tencent Games, will appear in the Luminaries Speaker Series to discuss how artificial intelligence is being integrated into production pipelines across the company’s studios.
Developers from MoreFun Studios will also deliver a talk titled “Illuminating Roco’s Legacy: Scalable Global Illumination from Theory to Practice,” which will explore the use of scalable lighting systems within game environments.
Meanwhile, representatives from TiMi Studio Group will present a session at the Machine Learning Summit examining how AI-assisted asset pipelines are used during the production of Honor of Kings.
Dedicated summits to focus on AI and development pipelines
Tencent will also organise two dedicated developer-focused events during GDC week.
The Tencent Games Developer Summit, scheduled for March 9th, will include presentations on topics such as marketing strategies, performance optimisation for large-scale shooters and cross-platform audio production.
The Tencent AI Summit will follow on March 10th and will focus on practical AI tools already integrated into game production pipelines. According to the announcement, sessions will cover systems such as multi-agent scene layout, logic-driven gameplay systems and tools designed to streamline large-scale development workflows.
Sustainability and player safety discussions at GDC
Tencent Games will also participate in several panel discussions during the conference.
At the GameSafe Summit, the company will discuss anti-cheat technologies and security systems for multiplayer games. A separate session will explore how games can support youth protection initiatives through tools such as parental control platforms.
Tencent will also take part in a sustainability-focused panel titled “How Environmental Content Builds Engagement and Loyalty,” which will examine how environmentally themed in-game events can influence player engagement. The discussion will include speakers from TiMi Studio Group, Supercell and Wooga.
Supporting new developers and industry initiatives
According to the announcement, Tencent will support several industry initiatives during the event, including sponsoring activities connected to the Global Game Jam at GDC through its Game Without Borders (GWB) Game Awards.
The company will also participate in the Entertainment Software Association Foundation’s “Nite to Unite” fundraising event on March 10th, which supports scholarships and educational programmes for students pursuing careers in gaming and STEAM-related fields.
Tencent Games stated that its GDC presence aims to highlight collaboration between developers, technology providers and the broader industry as new tools — particularly AI-driven systems — continue to shape the future of game development.
