Riot Games has revealed new details for Riftbound: The League of Legends Trading Card Game’s upcoming expansions, Riftbound: Vendetta and Riftbound: Radiance, during GAMA Expo 2026.
According to an announcement, Vendetta will launch on July 31st, introducing new champions, mechanics and Riftbound’s first two-player product, the Showdown Decks. A second expansion, Radiance, is scheduled to release on October 23rd. Riftbound is Riot Games’ physical trading card game based on the League of Legends universe, designed for both casual players and competitive TCG audiences.
Vendetta set introduces rivalries and new deckbuilding options
According to the announcement, Riftbound: Vendetta will focus on rivalries across Runeterra, the world in which League of Legends takes place. The set will feature more than 160 cards, including over 50 Showcase cards and nine Champion Legends. Several champions will make their Riftbound debut in the expansion, including Nasus, Renekton, Akali, Mel, Ambessa, Zed and Shen.
Vendetta will also introduce new domain pairings for deckbuilding, combining colour themes such as Fury and Calm (red and green), Mind and Body (blue and orange), and Chaos and Order (purple and yellow). According to the release, the expansion marks a shift in how Riftbound sets are structured. Future releases will feature nine champions per set, a format Riot Games said will allow deeper exploration of each champion’s archetype and gameplay identity.
Zed vs. Shen Showdown Decks debut with Vendetta
Vendetta will also introduce Riftbound’s first two-player product: the Showdown Decks. The preconstructed product features rival champions Zed and Shen, each with a complete 56-card deck. Each box contains two decks made up of 40 cards, 12 runes, one Champion Legend and three battlefields per deck, alongside two Vendetta booster packs.
According to the announcement, all cards included in the Showdown Decks will also be available in standard booster packs. Vendetta will expand the game’s collectible offerings with over 50 Showcase cards, alongside a special Showcase series highlighting rival duos such as Vi and Jinx, and Jayce and Viktor.
Product offerings for the set will include 24-pack Display Booster Boxes priced at $119.99 (~£94.6), Champion Decks priced at $19.99 (~£15.8), themed playmats and rivalry-themed art sleeves. The expansion will also see the return of the Vault, a product first introduced in the Unleashed set. The Vendetta Vault contains six booster packs, 36 basic runes, three double-sided full-art promo tokens and a reusable storage box.
Riftbound: Radiance set scheduled for October
Following Vendetta’s launch, Riot Games plans to release Riftbound: Radiance on October 23rd. According to the announcement, Radiance will feature a 180-card pool with more than 60 Showcase cards. The expansion will explore themes of creativity and brilliance across Runeterra. The set will introduce Evelynn to the game, joining previously announced champions Ekko and Seraphine. Radiance will also include its own Showdown Deck product, featuring Seraphine and Evelynn as the rival champions.
Riftbound forms part of Riot Games’ broader expansion of the League of Legends intellectual property beyond video games. The company — founded in 2006 — has expanded the franchise into media, music and tabletop products, alongside operating major esports ecosystems such as the League of Legends World Championship and the VALORANT Champions Tour.
