NCSoft’s Lineage Classic Launches Clean Campaign, Sanctions 1.5 Million Accounts to Combat Macros and Unauthorized Programs

NCSoft (Co-CEOs Taek-jin Kim and Byung-moo Park, hereafter NC) announced that Lineage Classic (Lineage Classic) will be running a “Clean Campaign” aimed at eliminating illicit and abnormal gameplay.

Lineage Classic has been actively sanctioning abnormal behaviors that disrupt users’ ability to play smoothly. Over a two-week period, the company took action—pursuant to its Terms of Service—against more than 1.5 million accounts found to have violated its operating policies.

NC will run the Clean Campaign through March 25. Players can participate by reviewing the in-game “report feature” guide and reporting characters suspected of using macros or unauthorized programs. Players whose reports are deemed valid will receive rewards, including the title and other consumable items designed to aid gameplay.

The game has also implemented an in-game system to block characters engaged in abnormal play. In certain fields and dungeons, “Guard” NPCs (Non-Player Characters) have been placed; these NPCs will track characters that violate operating policies and interfere with their gameplay.

More details on Lineage Classic and the event can be found on the game’s official website and brand website.
