Netmarble unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming open-world action role-playing game The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin during The Game Awards 2025 on Thursday night, offering a deeper look at the title’s multiverse-driven narrative and cooperative multiplayer features.
Shown at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the trailer highlighted cinematic visuals rendered with Unreal Engine 5, alongside gameplay sequences set across a reimagined Britannia. Characters including Meliodas and Tristan were shown traversing the open world on flying mounts, underscoring the scale of the game’s environments and its emphasis on exploration.
The presentation also introduced real-time cooperative raid battles, allowing multiple players to team up against large-scale bosses. These encounters appear to be central to Origin’s design as a shared, multiplayer-focused experience rather than a strictly solo adventure. A brief tease suggesting the possible return of Escanor through the game’s multiverse storyline was included, likely aimed at longtime fans of the franchise.
Multiverse storytelling and cross-platform release plans
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin has made several high-profile appearances throughout 2025, including showcases at Summer Game Fest, gamescom Opening Night Live, Tokyo Game Show and G-STAR. Netmarble confirmed the game is scheduled for a simultaneous global release on PlayStation 5, PC via Steam and mobile platforms, with the PS5 version positioned as the console exclusive.
Pre-registration is currently open on Google Play, the App Store and the game’s official website, while wishlist options are available on PlayStation 5 and Steam. Earlier this week, Sony Interactive Entertainment also included Origin in its list of “Most Anticipated Games Coming to PlayStation 5 in 2026,” further raising the game’s profile ahead of launch.

Based on Nakaba Suzuki’s The Seven Deadly Sins manga and anime series, which has sold more than 55 million copies worldwide, the game allows players to assemble customizable teams and engage in tag-based combat featuring combination skills and character switching. Multiplayer systems support both cooperative exploration and coordinated boss fights.
Netmarble previously conducted a global closed beta test in October. According to the company, a majority of participants responded positively, with 95% of surveyed players indicating interest in continuing with the game after release.
