T1 Goes Perfect in Round 3, Narrows Hanwha Life Esports Lead

T1 remained the only team in either the Legend or Rise Group to finish Round 3 of the LCK unbeaten, sweeping KT Rolster and Hanwha Life Esports to complete a perfect Week 2 and narrow the gap on second-place Hanwha Life Esports.

In Wednesday’s opener at the LCK Arena, T1 downed KT Rolster in straight games, closing out Game 1 in 26 minutes behind support Ryu “Keria” Min-seok’s decisive ultimate and Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong’s clean-up kills. T1 followed with a 27-minute victory in Game 2 by zeroing in on KT’s Varus pick and dismantling the Nexus.

Two days later, T1 faced HLE and delivered a commanding performance. After an 18–3 rout in Game 1, T1 recovered from a brief setback in Game 2, using coordinated Taliyah and Neeko plays to secure the reverse sweep and seal the 2–0 result. The wins moved T1 to 15–7, just one match behind HLE’s 16–6.

2025 LCK Round 3 · Week 2 Summary

Dplus KIA asserted control of the Rise Group by winning both of their Week 2 matches. Against DRX on July 30, Dplus KIA overcame a Game 1 loss in a 49-minute thriller, then rode Azir and Sivir performances to victory in Games 2 and 3. On Friday, they dispatched last-place DN Freecs in two quick games, improving to 13–9 and clinching a near-insurmountable five-game lead over OKSavingsBank BRION.

OKSavingsBank BRION stabilized under coach Lee "Duke" Ho-seong, rebounding from a defeat by BNK FEARX with a dramatic late-game turnaround against DN Freecs on Sunday to hold second in the Rise Group.

Round 3’s new Legend-Rise format delivered stark contrasts: Legend Group matches averaged 31 minutes, 26 seconds, while Rise Group games lasted 35 minutes, 8 seconds—over 3 minutes, 40 seconds longer. Rise Group also saw five full-set series compared with just one among the legends, and averaged 16.3 kills per match to the Legend Group’s 14.3, reflecting the fierce battle for the Play-In stage.

Play-In qualification remains at stake for the Rise Group’s mid-table teams, where only the top three advance. With Dplus KIA comfortably in front and a tight race for the remaining spots, expect intensity to ramp up as Rounds 4 and 5 approach.
