Gen.G and T1 secured the two LCK berths for the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational following the representative selection series held June 13–15 at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium in Busan. Gen.G completed a perfect regular season and clinched the top seed after a dramatic best-of-five against Hanwha Life Esports on June 13. Despite dropping the opening two games, Gen.G rallied to claim the final three. In Game 3, mid laner Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon fended off repeated collapse attempts, while bot laner Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk on Kai’Sa dominated team fights.
Game 4 featured a pivotal Baron skirmish won by a combination of Cho’Gath, jungler Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu on Lee Sin and support Joo "Duro" Min-kyu on Alistar, forcing a decisive fifth match. In the finale, Chovy on Zoe and Ruler on Lucian maintained relentless pressure to close out the series with a 17-8 kill advantage. This marks Gen.G’s third straight MSI qualification since debuting in 2023, and they now pursue back-to-back championships.
T1 stamped its fourth consecutive appearance by navigating past KT Rolster and Hanwha Life Esports. On June 14, T1 rebounded from a Game 1 loss to defeat KT Rolster 3–1. Jungler Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun swiped key objectives on Nocturne, and top laner Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon on Renekton scored timely solo kills. Support Ryu "Keria" Min-seok on Rell sealed the series. In the June 15 final, T1 overwhelmed Hanwha Life in Game 1 behind Oner’s Wukong and bot laner Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong on Kalista.
Although they dropped Game 2, late-game plays by Doran on Viktor and Camille swung momentum. A coordinated early group play in Game 3 ended in a four-man elimination, cementing a 3–0 finish. The 2025 MSI opens June 27 at Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum and concludes July 12. Gen.G and T1 will begin in the bracket stage alongside other regional champions.
