Busan, South Korea, will host the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) representative selection event for the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), organizers announced on Thursday. The event, scheduled from June 13-15, will take place at the Sajik Indoor Gymnasium, known among esports fans as the venue for the 2023 World Championship quarterfinals and semifinals.
This announcement continues LCK’s tradition of collaborating with cities outside of Seoul for major events, following prior tournaments in Gangneung (2022), Daejeon (2023), and Gyeongju (2024). The 2025 season marks a significant shift for the league, transitioning from a dual-season format to a single-season structure running from March to September.

Six top-ranked teams from the regular season will participate in the selection event, competing to earn one of two LCK spots for MSI. Initial rounds will occur at LoL Park, Seoul, before the competition moves to Busan for its final three days. The format combines a first-place decider and a king of the hill knockout system. The first- and second-ranked teams will compete directly for the top MSI seed, while teams ranked third through sixth battle sequentially for the second MSI berth.
Busan's selection highlights its growing prominence as an esports hub, and host for major global gaming events including G-Star. This aligns with LCK’s ongoing strategy to broaden its regional reach and audience engagement. The MSI selection event in Busan reflects a continuing trend in esports towards regional partnerships and community-focused events. LCK’s international profile remains strong, having secured nine World Championship titles, and consistently drawing millions of viewers worldwide.
