According to an official announcement on G2 Esports' social media page, the team's 2022 LEC bot laner Victor “Flakked” Lirola will no longer be with the roster. The post goes on to thank the Spanish AD carry for his contribution to the team's gameplay and atmosphere. In the video attached to the announcement, G2 highlights some of the most memorable moments with Flakked on the team.
The announcement was not surprising, as Flakked explained early last month in a string of tweets that he would not be featured on an LEC lineup for the start of 2023. He went on to express his appreciation for G2, stating, "That said, first of all, I would like to thank G2 once again for the opportunity to live my dream this year and for helping me in any way they could. About my future I still don't know much but my only goal is to return to the LEC and show a much better level than I have shown."
G2 was Flakked's first team while competing in the LEC — originally competing in Spanish competitions with teams such as S2V Academy, S2V Esports, and MAD Lions Madrid. Joining G2 at the start of 2022, he was one of the team's primary pieces in the organization's strategy to invest in young talent — working with fellow young player Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé in the bottom lane.
Though the team had many initial struggles in the spring, Flakked established himself as a promising player, and helped G2 win the LEC 2022 Spring Playoffs — qualifying for MSI. Flakked and the rest of G2 had a very rocky Summer Split, but managed to still qualify for Worlds 2022, where they had a disappointing run. Flakked has not yet announced what team he will play with for 2023.
