The 2022 LoL World Championship is just around the corner. 24 teams will participate to decide the greatest team of the year. Each region may interpret the meta differently, but the junglers have always done the difficult tasks for the team. Most of the time, it was the LPL junglers who led the pack, but nothing lasts forever. Which junglers should you keep an eye on for Worlds 2022?

5. Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu — DWG KIA

In 2020, DAMWON Gaming stood at the top of the world as they won the world championship. Canyon was the MVP at the finals of Worlds 2020, and he has been known as one of the best junglers in the world since then. At only age 21, Canyon carries the most important role on DWG KIA’s roster, as the team’s plays revolve around where Canyon goes.  Not everything fell into place for Canyon in 2022, but he did claim the spring season Player of the Split award by a big margin. Although DWG KIA’s laners may not be as strong as when they won the championship, Canyon is still Canyon, and there will be little to none around at Worlds that can stop him.

4. Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok — JD Gaming

Kanavi has played for JD Gaming since his debut in 2019, and brought success to the organization. He played a key role in the team’s first Worlds appearance as well as their two domestic championships. In the 2022 LPL summer split, Kanavi was voted on the 2nd All-pro team for his performance where he aided JD Gaming to 2nd place overall for the regular season. JD Gaming went on through the playoffs without losing to win the championship over Top Esports. As Kanavi can always be a superstar when his team needs him, he will definitely show up at Worlds 2022.

3. Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon — T1

One of the main reasons that T1 went through the spring season undefeated was Oner. In most of T1’s pinches, it was Oner to the rescue, and he was considered the one constant for the team. T1’s performance in the summer wasn’t nearly as good as their spring, but Oner still managed to put on top-notch performances. It’s only Oner’s second year on T1’s starting roster, yet this Worlds is already his third international appearance. Gaining more experience every day, Oner will bring on a storm in the jungles on the Rifts of Worlds.

2. Gao “Tian” Tian-Liang — Top Esports

The jungles of Worlds 2019 finals were dominated by Tian as FunPlus Phoenix won the championship and Tian was awarded the MVP for the finals. Since then, he had his ups and downs, including a wrist injury. When he first joined Top Esports, his synergy with the team wasn’t as great, but once they began to click, Tian became a beast, and he earned himself the honor of being voted on the LPL All-Pro team for the 2022 summer season. As another former world champion, Tian is aiming for the highest this year as well.

1. Han “Peanut” Wang-ho — Gen.G

Peanut was first introduced to the LoL esports scene when he was a young wild jungler, who plays aggressively all the time. The years have changed him into a “smart” jungler with innovative pathing and a wide champion pool. This change brought Peanut to a second peak in his career as he won the LCK championship and took the finals MVP. 

Peanut is one of the most experienced players in LoL esports now. Spending most of his career near the top, Peanut has won domestically and internationally, but he hasn’t yet lifted the Summoner’s Cup, and this may be his year.
