Winning the League of Legends World Championship puts one's name in history. You have your team's name etched in the famous Summoner's Cup, potentially have your organization's owner buy you a house, and have new business opportunities available for years after the initial win. And in the case of those part of Invictus Gaming's 2018 squad that won that year's Worlds, you could have your name literally written in gold.

On Chinese social media websites like Weibo, images have surfaced of an apparently very dedicated Invictus Gaming fan that has made a set of cards containing "pure gold" featuring the players of 2018's IG. Included on the cards are Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok, Gao "Ning" Zhenning, Song "Rookie" Eui-jin, Wenbo "JackeyLove" Yu, Wang "Baolan" Liuyi.  Featured below are what is claimed to be appraisal certificates to prove the gold content.

The owner states that the cards were made as a tribute to the new game LoL Esports Manager — a team management title similar to Football Manager for League esports — a game that features cards featuring professional players from the LPL. The game is currently in beta development in China, and has been in the works for several years, with the gold cards being made in celebration of the game. The creator of the cards stated that they intend to give them away as part of a contest.

It's important to note that credible details about the cards have not been made available at the time of this article being published. It is possible a fan made up the proposal to stir excitement.

LoL Esports Manager went into open beta in July of this year. The beta development was originally announced at Tencent’s Spark 2022 conference. There have been no announced plans of a western release.
