UPDATE May. 18: After parting ways with FakeGod, Dignitas have signed Noh "Gamsu" Yeong-jin as their new LCS top laner. Gamsu played for Dignitas in the LCS back in 2015 before pursuing a career in competitive Overwatch, and has spent his competitive return to League of Legends in the amateur and Academy system with 100 Thieves up until his reunion with DIG.

DIG also parted ways with two players on DIG Academy shortly after the announcement of Gamsu's return in top laner Yujie "Eclipse" Wu and mid laner Isaac "DARKWINGS" Chou.

Dignitas have announced the departure of starting top laner Aaron "FakeGod" Le. FakeGod joined Dignitas before the start of the 2021 season, but the 2022 LCS Spring Split was the first time DIG missed the post-season with him on the starting roster.

Dignitas got off to an impressive start to 2022 after upsetting 100 Thieves in the 2022 LCS Lock In, but struggled mightily in the second half of the Spring Split and fell out of post-season contention in the final week. FakeGod was serviceable to Dignitas as a tank-focused weak-side player while jungler Kim "River" Dong-woo primarily getting the bot lane of AD carry Toàn "Neo" Trần and support Vincent "Biofrost" Wang ahead, but he failed to provide a consistent carry presence in the top lane.

In 2021, FakeGod was part of two post-season runs for Dignitas, first as the 5th seed in the LCS Mid-Season Showdown and then in the summer as the 7th seed of the 2021 LCS Championship after finishing the regular season 23-22. In both post-season appearances, DIG was promptly eliminated in a sweep in their first respective matches at the hands of 100 Thieves in the Mid-Season Showdown and by Immortals in the LCS Championship.

This past split was the first time Dignitas has missed the post-season since the 2020 LCS Spring Split. Dignitas came into the final week of the 2022 Spring Split with one of the higher percentage chances to secure a post-season spot, but faced an incredibly tough schedule against Cloud9, Team Liquid, and 100 Thieves in their last three matches. 

Dignitas was able to win against 100 Thieves in their final game of the 2022 LCS Spring Split to maintain their undefeated head-to-head against the at-the-time defending North American champion, but ultimately lost out on a spot in the post-season due to head-to-head records.
