Rogue have defeated Misfits 3-1 in the first round of the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs. Rogue will move onto the second round of the post-season upper bracket and will play next against the winner of Fnatic and G2 Esports, who will face off tomorrow.

Rogue jumped out to quick 1-0 lead with a heavily early-game focused composition punctuated by a legacy Rumble pick for top laner Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu. The top-jungle duo of Odoamne and jungler Kim "Malrang" Geun-seong ran circles around Misfits top laner Shin "HiRit" Tae-min and jungler Lucjan "Shlatan" Ahmad even further in game 2, with Malrang seemingly everywhere that Shlatan seemed to go to push Rogue to match point.

Misfits managed to claw one back from Rogue in dominant fashion after Rogue botched an early game play around Odoamne's Jayce, which resulted in a sub-24 minute MSF win. However, Rogue was able to stabilize in game 4, which looked very similar to the first two games aside from a Zeri/Yuumi combination for AD carry Markos "Comp" Stamkopoulos and Adrian "Trymbi" Trybus.

The series standout was without a doubt Malrang, who played three games of Jarvan IV and one game of Volibear on his way to winning the KIA Player of the Series Award. Malrang went for a tankier, team-focused rune set and build in favor of the standard Jarvan IV setup, which is usually built upon a Goredrinker mythic item and the Conqueror rune keystone. Foregoing convention worked wonders for Malrang, who was relentless with his map pressure, especially in the top lane.

While Rogue will continue in the upper bracket in the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs, Misfits will continue on in the lower bracket. MSF's next opponent will be the winner of Excel Esports and Team Vitality, who face off on Sunday with post-season elimination on the line.
