On Mar. 24, Bilibili Gaming announced that legendary bot laner Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao will go on break from pro play.
After eight years of competitive career, Uzi retired from pro play in 2020 due to various wrist injuries over the years and being diagnosed with type-2 diabetes. He came out of retirement in December 2021 after signing with BLG, but remained on the bench due to the team’s success with Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-Chuan. Uzi returned to the starting roster for BLG’s match against Invictus Gaming, but failed to pick up a victory after a 1-2 loss.
According to BLG’s statement on Weibo, the organization mutually agreed with Uzi that he will go on break to focus on improving his condition. A translation of BLG's statement by HUPU Esports stated that the reasons for his break also include his synergy with the team. When (and if) Uzi will make his return to pro play is yet to be announced, but fans are hopeful that it happens sooner than later.
