The 2022 LCK Spring Split has concluded and the bracket for the Spring Playoffs has been set. The six LCK teams to qualify for the post-season are T1, Gen.G, DWG KIA, DRX, Kwangdong Freecs, and Fredit BRION. KT Rolster, Nongshim Redforce, Liiv SANDBOX, and Hanwha Life Esports will miss the spring post-season.
T1 was an easy lock for the LCK Spring Playoffs. With a young, souped-up roster led by veteran mid laner Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, T1 etched their name in League of Legends esports history once again with a perfect 18-0 season. Gen.G had a very strong season themselves at 15-3, but finished 2nd due to T1's perfect split.
The top two teams get a bye in the first round, so the 2022 LCK Spring Playoffs will kick off with two matches between the other four teams. DWG KIA was the third team to qualify for the post-season and ended the season tied with DRX, but DK secured 3rd place with a higher game score.
As a result, DK will play their first match of the LCK Spring Playoffs against 6th seed Fredit BRION. As the 4th seed, DRX will face off against 5th seed Kwangdong Freecs. KDF were the last team to qualify for the Spring Playoffs, but their higher game score gave them the higher seed than BRO since both teams finished 8-10.
Of the two teams who survive the first round, T1 will be allowed to choose their opponent due to their securing of the 1st seed. Gen.G will play against the other remaining team, and the winner of those matches will meet in the finals to see who is crowned the 2022 LCK Spring champion, and by extension, selected as the South Korean representative at the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational. All matches in the LCK Spring Playoffs will be in a best-of-five format.
