On Dec 16, Talon Esports announced that they’ve signed K-pop star Lee “Min” Min-young as their newest brand ambassador.
Min’s a K-pop star who’s most well known for her previous tenure in the K-pop girl group, “Miss A”. The group debuted in 2010 with their song, “Bad Girl, Good Girl”, where the song became an instant megahit, topping many music charts. After seven years with Miss A, Min parted ways with her entertainment agency, JYP Entertainment in 2017.
CEO/Co-founder of Talon Esports, Sean Zhang, explained their decision process in signing Min: “The really important factor was that she was naturally a gamer, and used [gaming] as a pastime to relax and destress. We heard that she was playing a ridiculous amount of Overwatch every single day, and when we’re looking for brand ambassadors and projects to work on, having people who are truly passionate about gaming and being able to breach that into the music industry and other entertainment forms was really important.”
