UPDATE Nov. 19: DWG KIA announces that they have parted ways with their coaches Kim "Ares" Min-kwon and Lee "PoohManDu" Jeong-hyeon. Ares joined DAMWON Academy [DWG KIA Academy] as a coach in 2020, then became a DWG KIA coach in 2021. PoohMandu joined DWG KIA as a coach in 2021.
The main players that led DWG KIA’s 2020 World Championship and 2021 Worlds runner-up are available in the FA market. On Nov. 16, DWG KIA announced on their Facebook page that Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu, Heo “ShowMaker” Su, and Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee have become free agents.
About the three players, they said, “DWG KIA respects their decisions for FA, We would like to express gratitude for their time with us. To continue our journey together, DWG KIA will keep communicating with them in hopes of signing new contracts,” implying that they will continue to negotiate to re-sign the players.
Along with the FA news, DWG KIA also said farewell to Kim “Khan” Dong-ha. “DWG KIA announces the contract with Kim 'Khan' Dong-ha is expired. He was the best brother and one of the most solid TOP players. We wish him good luck in the future.”
