Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa, the popular streamer best known for her ASMR and hot-tub content, revealed on Twitter this week that she has been diversifying her income streams. This is not unusual for streamers looking to become less reliant on Twitch for their main source of income, but it’s fair to say the likes of Félix "xQc" Lengyel and Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek probably haven’t gone down the path Amouranth has chosen this time: deciding to purchase a gas station.

That’s right, you read it correctly. The lady who came under fire for "perverting young minds" by appearing in a swimsuit in a paddling pool and writing names on her arm is now a full-time owner of a Circle-K. Regular subscribers to her channel should not be concerned about Amouranth neglecting her streaming duties to pull double shifts on the weekend though, as she revealed the operation only sees her installed as an owner, with the station run and maintained for her.

In a thread on Twitter, she also went out of her way to explain how, via a method involving a $3M bank loan and some clever accounting, Amouranth was able to purchase the gas station at what is effectively a $110k profit, at least initially. By investing only $1M of her own money and claiming back $1.11M on her tax due to the deal, she will end up effectively buying the station for "free", with an estimated yearly profit of $85k, according to her thread.

Financial advice

While diversifying your income is increasingly popular for Twitch streamers in 2021, it’s rare for content creators to move into such different areas from the ones they know, and rarer still to find them explaining their financial decisions publicly. Amouranth has made a habit of being more open about her success than other streamers in the past though, and this only continues the trend.

The streamer has already spoken about the limited time she can expect to make money from hot-tub streaming, OnlyFans, and the like, and her plans to move away from that were given another boost recently with the addition of the Animals, Aquariums, and Zoos tab on Twitch. Amouranth has long spoken about her desire to move into content creation and other workaround conservation when she moves on from her current business model and quickly rose to the top of the new category just days after it went live.

With her income streams now further diversified, fans should not worry too much about Amouranth transitioning away from her main income streams just yet, but it’s clear she’s making plans for a future free of hot tubs and bikinis. While some users on Reddit were quick to pour scorn on her announcement, it’s safe to assume the streamer is financially fine at this point in time, to say the very least.
