The Knights are pleased to announce that Garett “Grt” Bambrough has been promoted to the role of General Manager. Bambrough has had an extensive career in the esports space. From his beginnings as a professional CS:GO player, most notably for EG, he went on to represent his home country of Canada in a number of international events, winning the World Cyber Games in 2009. Bambrough went on to coach for Splyce, CLG, and Rogue, and has served as a CS:GO analyst and caster.
Since joining the Knights as an esports consultant in 2018, Bambrough has been dedicated to team building and recruiting new talent. “Working with a team is what I’ve always been drawn to. I’m excited to continue with the Knights in this role and to have the opportunity to empower young talent”.
Knights President James O’Connor says, “Garett has played an integral role in our growth as an esports org. His years as an in-game leader have given him the experience and expertise we need to execute our strategic vision.”
The Knights are a global esports organization headquartered in Pittsburgh. Since launching in 2017, the Knights have focused on entertaining fans, sharing esports, and bringing people together with live and virtual events. They solidified their spot in the City of Champions by partnering with six-time Super Bowl winners the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018. Since then, Pittsburgh-native and multi-platinum recording artist Wiz Khalifa has come on board as a strategic partner.
Adding to their troop is Pittsburgh Penguins’ alternate captain Evgeni Malkin – 3-time Stanley Cup winner. To cap off their powerhouse group, they brought on Mexico City-based media fund MX LATAM in 2019. Officially recognized by Pittsburgh as a premier team, they have partnered with the most talented, innovative, and prestigious sports and entertainment industry leaders – both in the city and around the world. Their team includes some of the top Rocket LeagueⓇ, Gears 5™, Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant, Madden NFL©, Halo, and Mortal Kombat, players in the world.
