LNG Esports has qualified for the main event of the 2021 League of Legends World Championship after a 4-0, 1st place finish in Group A of the Play-In. LNG got its final win of the group against Infinity Esports, the latter of whom became the first team to be eliminated from Worlds 2021.

As the #4 representative seed for China's League of Legends Professional League, LNG was thought to be arguably the strongest team in the Play-In at Worlds 2021 and delivered on that promise. LNG will join other LPL representatives Royal Never Give Up, FunPlus Phoenix and EDward Gaming in the group stage. Because of regional seeding, LNG Esports will be headed to Group D to rumble with Team Liquid, Gen.G and MAD Lions.

Consequentially, Infinity Esports' loss to LNG was its fourth of the group, and an 0-4 finish in Group A of the Play-In guarantees the Latin America representative last place in the group. As a result, Infinity Esports is the first team to be eliminated from advancing further at Worlds 2021.

With only one game left in Group A, the seeding of the group has been almost entirely decided. LNG is already on the main stage at the top of the group, and Infinity Esports is out. The final game between PEACE and Red Canids will see the winner capturing 3rd place in the group and therefore, getting side selection in the upcoming best-of-five series between the representatives of Oceania and Brazil.

The loser of the series between PEACE and Red Canids will join Infinity Esports in elimination, and the winner will go on to face Hanwha Life Esports, whose sole loss to LNG Esports guaranteed it second place in the group. The winner of the best-of-five series between HLE and either PCE or RED will join LNG Esports at the main event of Worlds 2021.
