Evil Geniuses head coach Peter Dun and Cloud9 streamer/content creator have released their own curated list of the top 25 players competing at the 2021 League of Legends World Championship in Reykjavik, Iceland next month. FunPlus Phoenix mid laner Kim "Doinb" Tae-Sang tops the list.
While ranking 25 players, especially across all five positions on Summoner's Rift, subjectivity will always play a part. However, it's hard for anyone to argue that Doinb, who is playing at a level arguably superior to his 2019 World champion form, isn't the best player at the tournament.
Here is the list of players, ranked in full collaboratively by Peter Dun and IWDominate:

The league with the most representation on this list is China's League of Legends Professional League, with 11 of the 25 spots. Support leads all positional presences with 8 of the 25 spots. League of Legends Champions Korea and the League of Legends European Championship have 7 and 5 spots, respectively, with North America's League Championship Series and Southeast Asia's Pacific Championship Series being represented by one player each.
Only one western play is in the top 10 in the form of MAD Lions mid laner Marek "Humanoid" Brázda, who was ranked ninth and is hitting a new career peak at the same time MAD Lions is in its golden age, winning back-to-back domestic titles in 2021. Three mid laners are ranked ahead of Humanoid, but one of them is not Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, who comes in at #16 as the sixth-highest mid laner on the list.
Not a single player from LCS champion 100 Thieves' roster was ranked in the top 25, which drew ire in the form of a tweet from the organization's founder Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag, stating that only pro players and former pro players should make tier lists.
