A significant number of Warzone players across the internet are calling for a boycott on purchasing the upcoming Season 5 battle-pass and all other microtransactions in Warzone until Raven Software adds a working anti-cheat system to the game.

The calls for boycott come amid frustrations with the Warzone cheater infestation, which has continued to get worse in the past few months, with many players, including Warzone content creator JGOD, calling the game unplayable. The cheating problem has even cost Warzone some of its biggest content creators like Nick Mercs, JD Courage, and Dr. Disrespect, all of whom have quit the game to play Apex Legends instead.

Warzone players call for boycott using #BoycottWarzone 

There have been calls for boycotts of Warzone in the past, since cheating has been a problem for well over a year now. However, in the lead-up to the new season, more people than ever are banding together to condemn Raven Software for their continued inaction toward cheating. Of course, Warzone has a huge player base, so it is not clear what impact, if any, a boycott could have on their profit margins.

Despite the very public and loud backlash demanding a working anti-cheat system, Raven Software has done very little to stem the tide of hackers ruining Warzone games.

In July, they banned 50,000 accounts, but when the game is free, banned cheaters can just spin up a new account. Raven Software also reportedly shut down the cheat seller CrazyAim's website and discord on Thursday, but that is just one single droplet in an absolute sea of cheating businesses and organizations around the internet.

One thing is clear, players are reaching the end of their patience on cheating. Those who aren't boycotting their in-game purchases are either quitting or becoming cheaters themselves. If Warzone doesn't take real, concrete action to fix their game, there won't be much of a Warzone community left.
