Razer revealed on Tuesday that they have developed a fully automated ocean cleaning robot in partnership with AI-robotics company Clearbot. The 0 emissions bot is dedicated to cleaning up rivers and oceans around the world.
"When our lead designers and engineers aren't busy creating game-changing products, we love using our expertise supporting game-changing start-ups in their push for sustainability," explained Charlie Bolton, Director of Industrial Design for Razer. "As part of our #GoGreenWithRazer initiative, we partnered up with Clearbot to bring you an innovative solution that cleans our oceans."
"Clearbot is a next-generation answer [to ocean pollution]," explained Sidhant Gupta, Co-Founder of Clearbot. "Clearbot is a marine trash-collecting drone that is solar-powered, self-navigating, and equipped with vision AI that uses machine learning to optimize its capability over time. With Razer's resources and technical expertise aiding our mission they have helped us improve on Clearbot's design by making it more efficient, marketable, and scalable."
Razer's partnership with Clearbot is part of its commitment to investing in environmental and sustainable startups through Razer's corporate venture arm, zVentures. Razer has committed 50 million USD to their Green Fund, which will be investing capital and talent into other forms of green tech over the next few years.
