To those of you new to Exos Heroes, unlike many mobile gacha games, the story mode is one of the most rewarding experiences of playing the game. On release, the story was limited to Chapter 10. However, with every major update, a new chapter has been released to introduce new heroes in the game as you continue Zeon’s journey. Chapter 12 introduces us to the nation of Brunn and the heroes Dorka, Neomi, and Kylock.
Similar to Chapter 11, you will have Schmid as a playable character who provides solid light damage if you are lacking in that element. If you are new to the game, you may struggle to progress through the story if you are not able to meet the minimum “Easy” CP for each episode. That said, I highly recommend having your team above 2,205,000 CP to clear the entire Chapter 12 with no issues. In addition, you should only have a team of nature, machine, and light elements to aid in breaking the enemies’ guard stones for even easier completion.
Don’t worry, this guide won’t spill details of the story, only provide the battle details for each episode to help those looking for 100% completion for the free rewards. Let's first look at the free rewards you can receive:
To all the completists out there, completing each episode’s mission for 3 stars will reward you with a total of 700 free Xes. Each episode has different requirements for a 3 star completion, but it’s not required to complete the stage. If you have difficulty completing an episode, I recommend just completing the stage then coming back when you make more progress on your account. Here are the breakdown of Xes rewards based on stars obtained:
- Reward for 7 Stars — 100 Xes
- Rewards for 19 Stars — 250 Xes
- Rewards for 39 Stars — 350 Xes
In addition to receiving free Xes from how many stars you obtained, you will also get free Xes from the corresponding Challenge Mission for each episode you complete. Challenge missions only require you to complete the stage and nothing else, so it’s the easiest way to get free Xes in this game. Although small, free Xes is always a win for all players. This is the first playable episode in Chapter 12 and nothing crazy here in terms of difficulty. To summarize this stage without spilling details on the actual story, after the initial cut scene, you face three waves of enemy Brunn soldiers. If you meet the minimum CP for easy, then you should beat this with no issue. If you are looking to clear all the missions for 3-star completion I recommend using normal attacks if your team is too strong. Also, DO NOT auto-battle as Schmid will clear entire waves alone.

This episode is the first boss fight against Kylock. You will see that the normal waves have increased HP and overall stats so they are a bit more difficult. However, if you cleared the last few stages with ease, this episode should be no issue. Kylock does have two sets of guard stones like other boss battles. If you are attempting this at a much higher CP than the required “Easy” minimum, then try not to use active skills against him or you will kill him too fast.

Again, I recommend manual play here and normal attacks if you are looking for a 3-star completion.

Similar to Episode 8, Schmid will not be part of your team. He will actually not be playable for the remainder of Chapter 12, so if you were depending on him as your main damage I recommend leveling and gearing your heroes as you were likely lower than the required CP for Easy. Stats have remained the same here, so enemies will not be harder than the previous stage. I also recommend using manual mode and normal attacks here for a 3-star clear.

This stage is the final playable stage of Chapter 12 and the hardest. Notice the increase in stats for the normal waves of enemies. In addition, there is the boss battle against Mahar who is a fairly strong defense type. He does have high HP here, so if you bring a Banga type fatecore you can focus on Mahar first to land a level 3 Heart Strike and AOE burn the additional enemies without targeting them.
In addition, he does have two sets of guard stones like other Story Mode bosses, so note the required elements if you are attempting 3-stars here. While not that much difficult from other stages, you should bring a strong tank and healer for safety here in case your CP is slightly below the required minimum. After completing this stage you will receive a limited Hot Deal for another ranked armor piece with abrasives. Spenders should consider this if you are low on ranked gear.
