K/DA’s first album, titled “ALL OUT”, is slowly fading from our daily habits. Naturally, we have been on the hunt for a new playlist to keep us company. K-Pop supergroup TWICE has paired up with PlayStation Music Asia to kick off its “K-Pop and Play” mix, satisfying our cravings that just CAN’T STOP (ME).

An eclectic mix, the playlist launched nearly two hours of music ranging from The Velvet Underground to the Suginami Children’s Choir. Within a day of release, however, the 31-track collection expanded to 56 songs. While no details have been released regarding the near-doubling of content, we would venture to guess that the initial selection wasn’t enough “K-pop” for a takeover entitled, “K-Pop and Play.”

The second batch of songs added is much closer to the genre. Interestingly, only three of the songs are from TWICE on the playlist with BTS making four appearances. Other K-Pop staples like ITZY, BLACKPINK, Red Velvet and IU also appear in the mix. While we haven’t had enough time with the playlist to guarantee that “K-Pop and Play” will improve your mechanical skills or game sense, we did go 2-0 in Summoner’s Rift with the playlist on. 

TWICE is no stranger to gaming, lending four of their members to K/DA’s synth-driven anthem, “I’LL SHOW YOU” alongside Bekuh Boom and Aluna.

Additionally, several members of the group have been very open about their gaming habits. After hearing about League of Legends from TWICE fans, the group’s lead vocalist, Park Jihyo has been hooked, admitting to playing whenever they have time. She admitted that the anonymity that comes with playing an online game is relaxing, giving her time where she can escape the spotlight. “ Nobody can judge me through [the screen]” Park said in an interview with Allure. “That’s why I feel most comfortable.” 

Myoui Mina has also been getting more serious about their gaming, purchasing a PC rig and gear. In an interview on “Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time” radio show, she revealed that she had previously spent most of her time gaming on mobile devices, but wanted to be able to “play properly.”
