KT Rolster has confirmed via its official Facebook page that its League of Legends team has parted ways with seven players. Top laners Song "Smeb" Kyung-ho, Kim "SoHwan" Jun-yeong , and Jeon "Ray" Ji-won, as well as junglers Kim "Malrang" Geun-seong and Kim "BonO" Gi-beom, will be leaving KT alongside mid laner Lee "Kuro" Seo-haeng and support Park "TusiN" Jong-ik.
Coming into the 2020 LCK Spring Split, KT Rolster boasted both Ray and SoHwan splitting time in the top lane on its starting roster, though Ray only played 6 games and went 2-4 compared to SoHwan's 8-4. KT faced off against DAMWON Gaming in the wildcard match to kick off the 2020 LCK Spring Playoffs, but lost 2-1.
Smeb returned to KT Rolster's active roster following spring and split time with SoHwan throughout the 2020 LCK Summer Split, but KT's 7-11 record was only good enough for a 6th place finish and not good enough for the Summer Playoffs. Still, KT's chances for qualifying for the 2020 World Championship remained very much alive.
KT attempted to keep its Worlds 2020 hopes alive in the first round of the 2020 LCK Regional Finals — once again platooning Smeb and SoHwan — but had its season ended at the hands of Afreeca Freecs in a 3-0 sweep.
Malrang only started a handful of games for KT Rolster in both the Spring Split and Summer Split of the LCK 2020 season over BonO, and Kuro split time throughout summer with Son "Ucal" Woo-hyeon after the latter joined the team following Griffin's relegation in the 2020 LCK Summer Promotion tournament. TusiN started for KT Rolster for the entirety of 2020, so for the team to have an official starting roster for LCK 2021 a top laner, jungler, and support must be signed.
