A 75,000 square foot esports arena is currently being developed in Mesa, AZ. The esports arena will be part of Legacy Sports Park, a privately owned 320-acre multi-use family sports and entertainment complex that is currently being built in Mesa. 

The stadium is predominantly a sporting center with access to 62 volleyball courts, 16 National Basketball Association basketball courts, and six Olympic size Futsal Courts alongside the esports arena. The Legacy Sports Park will also include a multi-purpose outdoor amphitheater designed for concerts, family shows, exhibitions, and conventions.

The esports arena being built as part of Legacy Sports Park is particularly interesting because of the sheer size of the development taking place. Esports arenas are often added on to pre-exisiting facilities of smaller size or establish themselves self-sufficiently in an independent location. For Legacy Sports Park to feature a large esports arena, even when compared to the rest of the development, is unusual and may point towards an increased priority on esports going forward.

In addition to the eponymous brand Esports Arena's global expansion, other esports arenas and competitive gaming centers have been opening up across the globe in both collegiate and event-focused settings. 

“The Legacy Sports Park will be a one-of-a-kind destination for aspiring athletes, sports enthusiasts, and more,” said Peter Luukko, Chairman, OVG facilities. “We look forward to bringing our many Oak View Group resources to Mesa to identify and create exciting opportunities for Legacy Sports Park.”
