The League of Legends European Championship has talked about one thing this past week: the Schalke 04 “Miracle Run” from lowest in the standings to Worlds contender. The first playoffs round featured SK Gaming and S04 fighting for a chance to remain in the tournament and play the lower seed loser of the upcoming matches.

Schalke’s resurgence has created one of the most exciting storylines that League of Legends esports has seen in a while. Going into the weekend, Schalke 04 Esports was favored to win against their German brothers of SK Gaming and advance in Playoffs for a chance to get to Worlds 2020.

Coming into Playoffs in a seven-game win streak, now turned into ten, Schalke made clear that they are a strong Worlds contender by knocking SK Gaming out of the race in a quick and clean 3-0 series. Now it is up to them to defeat the upcoming opponent in the LEC.
