Present in the League of Legends scene for nearly a decade, and part of the LoL Esports scene for five years, Christian “IWDominate” Rivera will be making part of Cloud9’s roster of content creators.
The former Team Liquid League of Legends streamer has recently been removed from the League Partner program (LPP), having his rights to co-stream the LCS revoked. According to Riot Games, Rivera had been banned for having statements posted on their social media that violated their policies, potentially harming the safety of the inclusive community they look to build.
“When IWDominate came to me with the opportunity for us to pick him up, I was so impressed by his desire to improve. He has expressed the desire to work with our sports psychologist, our team, and our staff to build good content, and be a role model to younger players", said Jack Etienne, founder, and CEO of Cloud9.
Cloud9 has picked up the streamer who has nearly 800,000 followers in his Twitch channel. As of right now, it is unknown exactly what content will be produced in this partnership, but both parties seem to be looking forward to the future projects.
