On the 31st (KST), T1 played kt Rolster and SANDBOX Gaming played Team Dynamics in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Summer Split.
The first match caught a lot of attention as Lee “Clozer” Ju-hyeon started in place of Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok. It had been only four days since he became eligible to play in the league, yet his performance was that of a seasoned pro. T1 smiled in the early game as Clozer’s Zoe cleaned up the skirmish in bot lane, but kt Rolster still had the initiative and took more dragon stacks. However, as T1 started to catch up, kt Rolster attempted to engage, burning their Flashes which led to Zoe and Kim “Canna” Chang-dong’s Vladimir killing most of them. After securing Baron, T1 succeeded to close the game. Clozer was voted as player of the game on his debut.
By substituting three players, kt Rolster attempted to strike back. They started well by trading kills well and snowballing. They also succeeded to collect three dragon stacks. However, T1 started to pick their pace up. Just before the fourth dragon, they cut off Kim "Malrang" Geun-seong's Volibear to stop kt Rolster from getting the dragon soul. From that point, T1 continued to benefit all around the Rift. Although kt Rolster was ahead in global gold for most of the game, after it was turned around, they didn't have a chance. The last fight came at Baron, as Park "Teddy" Jin-seong's Aphelios stole the Baron and led the teamfight win. With that, T1 collected their 8th win of the season.
SANDBOX Gaming scored first in against Team Dynamics. They executed a late-game comp, yet took everything from the early game. SANDBOX Gaming was straightforward that they were aiming for the late game, as both Corki and Aphelios bought Cull. Even so, the early game initiative went to SANDBOX Gaming. Park "Summit" Woo-tae's Jayce dominated Lee "Rich" Jae-won's Akali, and that was the beginning of SANDBOX Gaming's snowball. In the following fights, SANDBOX Gaming continued to win, including a solo kill on Akali from Yoo "FATE" Soo-hyeok's Corki. Without much trouble, SANDBOX Gaming succeeded to blow Team Dynamics' Nexus.
Lee "Kuzan" Seong-hyeok poked SANDBOX Gaming open in game 2. With accurate skillshots, Kuzan's Zoe led the team to victory and a third game. Team Dynamics had the priority in the early game. Through their lead, they collected the dragon and Rift Herald in order. SANDBOX Gaming defended well, as Moon "Route" Geom-su's Aphelios collected two kills and earned some time. However, Team Dynamics claimed wins in skirmishes and took the dragon soul and Baron. Although the game went late, and SANDBOX Gaming stole the Elder Dragon, they eventually fell to Team Dynamics' continuous raid on the Nexus.
SANDBOX Gaming started to score starting from the early game. Through a Flash burnt in the invade phase, they collected the first blood in bot lane. With another successful gank at top lane, Kim “OnFleek” Jang-gyeom’s Lee Sin took two kills and SANDBOX Gaming was able to gain all the objectives on the Rift. Team Dynamics seemed to successfully strike back, but they overextended and were taken down again. The following fights were all in favor of SANDBOX Gaming. After securing Baron, they marched through Team Dynamics’ base for their 6th win of the season.
