The two most important questions when building your E1 Fantasy Lineup: Who do I pick? Who do I not pick? Well we heard you mumbling these questions to yourself and are giving you some help. Who to avoid is just as important as to who you flock towards as you need to make sure your whole lineup is set to pop-off, from Top to Team. We are giving you one player/team from each position to target and another one to run as far away from as you possibly can. Choose wisely!
PICK: Janik "Jenax" Bartles — SK Gaming — $230,000 (vs Misfits & Excel Esports)
Week 1 went exactly like I predicted for Jenax: force himself to be a tank up top (Ornn) and struggled. However I was happy to see him switch to the more aggressive Top Champ (Aatrox) in Game 2, where he racked up 23 points. If SK leans on Jenax to be aggressive and carry from Top, he will be more than worth the money.
AVOID: Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho — 100 Thieves — $270,000 (vs Team Liquid & Immortals)
PICK: Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen — Team Liquid — $260,000 (vs 100 Thieves & Evil Geniuses)
Nothing wipes away the memory of a disastrous Spring Split like a win over TSM’s Doublelift in a dominant 2-0 week! We know Broxah is extremely talented, safely top 3 in talent in the player pool. A lot of us were burned by him in Spring, but we can’t let a grudge prevent us from winning prizes. TL is leaning on Broxah hard, as he Killed/Assisted on 21 of 25 kills so far, so maybe we should too.
AVOID: Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen — Evil Geniuses — $210,000 (vs Cloud9 & Team Liquid)
PICK: Tim "Nemesis" Lipovšek — Fnatic — $310,000 (vs MAD Lions & Origen)
Right behind C9, Fnatic is the only other team that is strongly favored to go 2-0 this week. As much as I would love to ride the guaranteed success of Rekkles in a week like this, he is just too pricey. So the reigning Top 5 Fantasy Mid laner Nemesis will fill the void as a budget Rekkles this week.
AVOID: Tanner "Damonte" Damonte" — Golden Guardians — $230,000 (vs Counter Logic Gaming & Cloud9)
PICK: Kasper "Kobbe" Kobberup — Misfits — $320,000 (vs SK Gaming & FC Schalke 04)
Do not blame Kobbe for Misfit’s Week 1 woes! He seemed to be the only player ready for Fnatic as he racked up 34 fantasy points in the loss. Kobbe has been talking some trash saying he is ‘happy to face real competition’ after coming to LEC. I know it hurts as NA fans… but like if he pops off in my lineup like he should against SK and S04 I won’t hold it against him.
AVOID: Bae "Bang" Jun-sik — Evil Geniuses — $280,000 (vs Cloud9 & Team Liquid)
PICK: Zdravets "Hylissang" Iliev Galabov — Fnatic — $200,000 (vs MAD Lions & Origen)
Similar to my thought process on Nemesis, I want some FNC action that doesn’t cost me $400k. What better what to benefit off of Rekkles than picking the cat that will be attached to him the whole game? Yuumi or not, FNC has a power Bot lane that should be responsible for most of the Kills coming this weekend. Hylissang can go full Chris Paul and get those Assists.
AVOID: Philipp "Vulcan" Laflamme — Cloud9 — $240,000 (vs Evil Geniuses & Golden Guardians)
PICK: Counter Logic Gaming — $240,000 (vs Golden Guardians & Dignitas)
This sounds RIDICULOUS after CLG just was on the wrong end of a perfect game… But hear me out. They are clearly better than Dignitas (everybody except Immortals is). So now you are paying a budget price for a team with a guaranteed win and a 50/50 shot at a 2-0 week. It doesn’t feel great, but it can be worth it if it allows you to pay up at other positions.
