Evil Geniuses has defeated FlyQuest in the first round of the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Playoffs. The 2nd seed EG defeated 4th seed FLY convincingly in a 3-1 series, and will move onto the final match in the winners' side of the post-season bracket.
EG has been on a rampage in recent weeks. Including its final tie-breaker match against 100 Thieves, EG went 6-1 in its last 7 games of the 2020 LCS Spring Split, its only loss to Cloud9. Evil Geniuses kept on rolling in its first post-season game, and given FlyQuest's consistent performance as the second best team in regular split play, EG is further solidifying its claim as a top 2 team in North America.
Evil Geniuses AD Carry Bae "Bang" Jun-sik enjoyed Player of the Series honors. Bang was a bastion of consistency against FlyQuest, as he was for EG for the entirety of the Spring Split, which earned him 2nd All-Pro Team honors for the 2020 LCS Spring Split.
FlyQuest has not been eliminated in suffering a loss to Evil Geniuses, but due to the new post-season format for the 2020 LCS, has been dropped down to the loser's side of the bracket to play an elimination best-of-five against 6th seed Golden Guardians next week. Evil Geniuses will face off against the winner of tomorrow's match between Cloud9 and 100 Thieves.
