SK Telecom T1 and Twitch have signed a contract for the SKT T1 players to stream exclusively on Twitch starting on February 6th (KST).
SK Telecom T1 was founded in December 2012, and was the champion of 5 LCK Splits and 3 World Championships. The team is also the home of many world-class players, including but not limited to Sanghyuk "Faker" Lee, Wangho "Peanut" Han, and Seunghoon "Huni" Heo. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that it is the most well-known LCK team in the world.
Twitch probably shouldn't need any introductions for those who are reading this article - as it has over 100 million monthly users and is currently the platform of choice for the League of Legends World Championship and regional Championships. Given that Twitch and SKT T1 are considered to be the best in their respective fields, this agreement could not have come sooner for fans of League of Legends.
Albert Kim, General Manager of Twitch Korea, stated "We are happy to have made a formal streaming agreement with SK Telecom T1. We will provide as much support and publicity as we can, so that fans all over the globe can enjoy their time watching the players on Twitch."
Seonjung Kim, General Manager of Sports for SK Telecom, also spoke regarding the deal, saying "We thought that Twitch was the most effective choice for us to provide high-quality streams of our players. We hope that fans of SKT T1 all over the globe can enjoy watching the SKT T1 players."
Meanwhile, Kongdoo Company will be taking care of the planning and production of streaming content for SK Telecom T1. The stream will officially start on February 6th 11:30 p.m. (KST, 6:30 a.m. in PST) and will feature none other than Faker himself.
