If you do not have the same amount of skill points you can reduce the levels of "Earth Cleaver" to 1, 4, or 7. If you have even lower skill points then reduce "Wind Cut" level to 7 and "Spincutter" to 4 or 7. 


General Playstyle for Build

1. "Spincutter" to the boss to apply your "Open Weakness" debuff

2. "Maelstrom" into awakening skill "Flash Blink" + "Soul Absorber" for 3 death orb meter. If still not 3 death orb meter, use "Void Strike" and/or "Blitz Rush".

3. Activate Deathblade arts mode (Z)

4. "Spincutter" for 3 surge stacks

5. "Windcut" for 4 surge stacks

6. "Earthcleaver" for 2 surge stacks

7. "Void Strike" for potential 8 surge stacks (if you cannot get the full channel off it's ok to end it early. You will still get about 6 stacks if boss stays in your Void Zone puddle)

8. "Maelstrom" + "Blitz Rush" and "Soul Absorber" for 3 surge stacks

9. "Spincutter" to reapply your "Open Weakness" debuff and get the last few surge stacks you may be missing from hitting 20.

10. "Surge" (Z) hopefully at 20 surge stacks on the bosses back if possible for the huge burst of damage.

11. Repeat from step 3 until boss is dead.


Important Notes:

  • If for whatever reason you need to regain 3 death orb meter and don't have awakening skill available anymore, then you will regain it using "Maelstrom" + "Soul Absorber" + "Void Strike" (Tap Only) + "Blitz Rush". You should be able to get all 3 of these skills off in the "Maelstrom" buff timeframe for the highest amount of death orb meter.
  • Try not to overlap your skills when stacking surge buffs (i.e. Do not use "Windcut" and "Voidstrike" at the same time). Surge stacks are only gained every 0.4 seconds.
  • Try to use your "Dark Axel" for not only avoiding attacks from bosses, but also for positioning behind the boss for when you are about to use "Surge" (Z).
  • "Spincutter" is not only a good debuff utility + surge stacking skill, but also good for manuevering to the back of a boss or away from dangerous boss attacks.
