The League of Legends Champions Korea will take one of its biggest stages outside South Korea for the first time. Riot Games announced that the 2026 LCK Cup Finals will be held in Hong Kong, marking the league’s first overseas roadshow since its launch in 2012.

The final qualifier and grand final of the 2026 LCK Cup are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28, and Sunday, March 1, at Kai Tak Arena. The move reflects the LCK’s ongoing push to expand its international audience as interest in competitive League of Legends continues to grow worldwide.

Since debuting in 2012, the LCK has built a reputation as the strongest regional league in professional League of Legends esports. Teams from the league have won the World Championship 10 times, more than any other region. That competitive success has translated into global viewership, with overseas fans making up a majority of the league’s audience in recent seasons.

A Cornerstone for Building a Global Fandom

In recent years, the LCK has experimented with roadshow events outside the Seoul metropolitan area, hosting matches in other parts of South Korea to improve access for local fans. The 2026 finals represent a significant expansion of that strategy, offering international fans the chance to attend an LCK marquee event in person.

Hong Kong was selected after considering travel accessibility and venue infrastructure, according to the league. The city’s location is expected to make the event more reachable for fans across Asia, while also appealing to visitors from other regions.

The finals will be held at Kai Tak Arena, a newly opened indoor multipurpose venue that can accommodate more than 10,000 spectators. Opened in 2025, the arena has already hosted major sports competitions and concerts, and is positioned as a key destination for large-scale international events.

Ticket sales for the event will begin with a presale for Paycool credit card holders at 11 a.m. KST on Jan. 29. General ticket sales open at the same time on Jan. 30 through Damai and HK Ticketing. Attendees can also expect on-site attractions such as official merchandise, team booths, and sponsor activations.

Meanwhile, the 2026 LCK Cup is nearing the end of its group stage. The Play-In round is scheduled for Feb. 6–8, followed by a double-elimination playoff bracket running from Feb. 12–22, leading into the Hong Kong finals.
