In Game 1 of Day 3, Week 2 of the Group Battle at the 2026 LCK Cup, held on the 23rd at CHZZK LoL Park in Jongno, Seoul, T1 swept KT Rolster 2–0 to extend their streak to three straight wins. In the post-match winner’s interview, “Faker” Lee Sang-hyeok shared his thoughts: “KT is a strong team we also faced at Worlds, so it was an important match. I’m happy we were able to win.”

Below is the full interview with T1’s “Faker,” Lee Sang-hyeok.

You’ve made it three wins in a row. How do you feel about the victory?

Because KT is a strong team we faced at Worlds, it was a very important match. I’m glad we were able to win like this.

In Game 1, we saw “Keria” on support Lissandra.

Since I’ve played a lot of Lissandra myself, in Game 1 I thought Lissandra had angles to counter what the opponent picked, so we chose it.

How did Keria’s Lissandra look from your perspective?

I don’t think there were any particularly standout moments, but it felt like he did a good job executing the plays he needed to make.

You got a solo kill on Ryze in Game 1. Can you walk us through what happened?

First off, I had already been thinking there was likely going to be a fight in that lane. I’d roughly mapped out the situation in my head beforehand, so I think the execution came out well.

The opposing Taliyah took Teleport instead of Ghost. What difference does that make?

If you take Ghost, you get extra movement speed, so I think people often take it when they prefer that. But Teleport has its own strengths for early-to-mid game macro and how you run the map. There are pros and cons.

Game 2 was a more late-game-oriented composition. How were you trying to manage the early-to-mid game risk?

We tried to play it out while avoiding skirmishes as much as possible in the early and mid game. But a few accidents happened and the game became really difficult, and it turned into one where we had no choice but to turtle up. Still, we played well around the concept of our composition and leaned into what it was built to do.

You were down more than 10,000 gold, then turned it around in the Elder Dragon teamfight. What kind of calls were being made in that moment?

In that fight, I died first, so I was basically watching the rest. The moment Mundo secured Elder and then caught Yunara, I thought, “We’ve won.”

Did you feel certain—“If we just hold on, we win no matter what”?

Not that we would win no matter what, but I judged that in this game, playing it out patiently and holding on would give us a higher chance of winning.

Recently, mid laners have been sweeping up POM awards. Is that because mid lane influence has increased?

Personally, I don’t think it’s so much that mid lane’s influence has grown. Mid lane also won the season opening, didn’t it? I think they’re receiving those awards simply because they’re strong players. It’s because they’re royal-class mid laners.

Your next opponent is BNK FearX. If you had to point out the key battleground, what would it be?

I think mid lane will be important again. After all, that’s another royal-class mid laner matchup.

Finally, a message of determination for the fans?

Throughout this LCK Cup, we’ll do our best to show the fans great matches.
