During the 2025 League of Legends World Championship in Chengdu, Riot Games unveiled the next major Teamfight Tactics set, Lore & Legends, along with a new cinematic and details about the upcoming TFT Paris Open. The cinematic, featuring Pengu and other Little Legends, revisits some of Runeterra’s most iconic moments through a whimsical, fast-paced adventure scored by Mako’s new “Lore & Legends Medley.”

“Teamfight Tactics: Lore & Legends is a celebration of Runeterra and some key moments in its history,” said Julien Camaraza, lead set designer for Teamfight Tactics: Lore & Legends. “We’ve done Runeterran sets before, but this takes things to a whole new level.”

The cinematic blends nostalgia and humor, showing Little Legends narrowly surviving Runeterra’s legendary battles while highlighting the emotional connection fans have with the world. The set launches December 3, 2025 (TFT Patch 16.1) on PC and mobile.

As the set pays homage to fifteen years of League of Legends lore, it’s also setting the stage for one of TFT’s biggest esports events yet: the TFT Paris Open. The global celebration invites players and fans to gather in December for competition and community festivities.

The Paris Open will host more than 768 competitors battling for the TFT Tactician’s Belt and a $100,000 prize pool. Beyond the main event, attendees can explore artist alleys, meet cosplayers inspired by Lore & Legends, and join co-streamer watch parties.

Peter Whalen, game director for Teamfight Tactics, called Lore & Legends the “biggest set we’ve ever done,” emphasizing the combination of deep lore and TFT’s signature charm. “We get to combine epic lore and deep nostalgia with the whimsy and wonder that TFT players love,” he said.

EDM artist and songwriter Mako, who composed the medley featured in the cinematic, said, “We wanted to deliver an epic medley to really hit the feeling of these Little Legends witnessing these key moments, and I think we did it.” The full Lore & Legends global reveal will take place during the K.O. Coliseum’s Tactician’s Crown from Nov. 14–16.
