T1 and kt Rolster will meet in the 2025 League of Legends World Championship Grand Final on Nov. 9 in Chengdu, China, marking the first Worlds championship clash between the telecom-owned rivals. Riot Games confirmed the matchup will take place at the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Multi-Purpose Gymnasium.

The all-LCK final guarantees South Korea a fourth straight World title and the region’s 10th overall. T1 enters as the defending champions after lifting the Summoner’s Cup in 2023 and 2024. A victory on Sunday would make them the first team in history to win three consecutive Worlds championships. For kt Rolster, the match represents a long-awaited breakthrough — the organization’s first Worlds Finals appearance since its League of Legends team was founded in 2012.

T1’s core stars are vying for a sixth championship for the organization and a third consecutive for the current roster. Mid laner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok could become the only player to compete in all three titles of the run, alongside Oner (Moon Hyun-jun), Gumayusi (Lee Min-hyung) and Keria (Ryu Min-seok). Top laner Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon seeks his first Worlds crown.

Preview: 2025 League of Legends World Championship Finals

kt Rolster arrived in Chengdu with momentum after a breakthrough season. The team ended a decade of quarterfinal exits by sweeping CTBC Flying Oyster in the Worlds Knockout Stage and defeating Gen.G — the preseason championship favorite — in the semifinals. Head coach Go “Score” Dong-bin and his roster could secure their first Worlds championship with a win.

The two teams’ competitive history favors T1. Since 2020, T1 holds a 26-6 record in official matches against kt Rolster and remains undefeated in best-of-five series. However, kt Rolster enters the finals with the highest game win rate of any team at Worlds 2025, having dropped only one map through Swiss, quarterfinals and semifinals.

Sunday’s final offers a historic choice: a T1 dynasty cementing an unprecedented three-peat, or kt Rolster capturing its first title and rewriting its legacy. The Summoner’s Cup will remain in Korea — but whether it returns to T1 or finds a new home with kt Rolster will be decided in Chengdu.
